A doctor is facing charges of falsely certifying physical exams to commercial drivers.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office 45-year old Dr. Gerald Surya found drivers physically fit to drive commercial vehicles, but never examined them.
Surya allegedly had employees with little or no training at his JFK Medport office in Queens conduct the physical exams.
This comes nearly two weeks after he was arrested for allegedly writing false prescriptions in exchange for cash.
Prosecutors say he sold 26 illegal prescriptions during nine office visits between November 2014 and August.
Surya has been licensed to practice medicine for 19 years.
