The city and the Transport Workers' Union have reached an agreement the union says will protect bus drivers from being wrongfully charged for certain accidents under Vision Zero.

TWU Local 100 sued the city over a provision in the law it says was unconstitutionally vague, and led to the arrest of six bus drivers between September 2014 and last February.

Last year, Mayor de Blasio made it a criminal misdemeanor when drivers fail to exercise "due care" and a pedestrian or cyclist is injured.

The new agreement will clarify the terms of the provision, which the union says will safeguard drivers who were in accidents lacking recklessness.
