Two suspects apprehended after an undercover gun bust went wrong, and resulted in the shooting death of a bystander, have been charged.

Police say an undercover officer met 28-year-old Jeffry Aristy in the Bronx Friday afternoon.

Aristy told the officer to drive north to Mount Vernon, where police say 24-year-old Samuel Ruiz got into the car and pointed a gun at the officer's head.

When Ruiz tried to run away, police say the officer fired several times, and Ruiz and a bystander, 61-year-old Felix Kumi, were shot.

Kumi died at the hospital.

Ruiz was treated and released into police custody.

Police say Aristy also fled, but was caught a short time later.

Both he and Ruiz were arraigned in Manhattan criminal court early this morning on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

Aristy's wife, 29-year-old Ivett Cruz, was also charged with selling a controlled substance.
