Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed quality-of-life concerns in an op-ed in The Daily News Sunday.

He wrote the city's "bad days" are in the past, and that New York is safer now than ever.

The mayor also touted his administration's accomplishments of universal pre-K, a balanced budget, and an uptick in tourism. His central goal is eliminating income inequality.

The mayor also acknowledged the city's rise in homelessness.

He says he's earmarking $1 billion over the next four years to reduce the number of homeless people in the city.
