A Brooklyn man is facing murder charges after police say he stabbed his girlfriend to death in the Bronx over the weekend.

Khiry Borden, 25, was arraigned on charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 22-year-old Jasmine Gonzalez.

Police say they found Gonzalez's body in Bronx River Park around 6 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators say Gonzalez had multiple stab wounds in her midsection and died at the scene.

Gonzalez's family says she and her boyfriend were arguing over their 2-year old son. They say they don't know what to do.

"She always had a smile on her face, always very close with her brothers and with me, and now she's not here," Luz Diaz, Gonzalez's mother, said through an interpreter. "I thought that I was going to wake up from a nightmare, but now I realize it really happened. It was her."

Borden is due back in court on Friday.
