The Cuban flag is flying over Brooklyn Borough Hall ahead of the International Friendship Day Parade.

Borough President Eric Adams says it's a show of solidarity with the country, following it's agreement to restore diplomatic ties with the U.S.

When asked about the ongoing human rights issues in Cuba, Adams says it's up to the U.S. to embrace the nation to show a better path.

"The best way to address any concerns of human rights issues is by having transparency and have America play a role in using our government to show how we do it here at home. We want to do it there in Cuba," Adams said. "We're all in this together. Flying over Borough Hall is saying that we are one country, and one country that's going to make the entire globe better."

Brooklyn's annual International Friendship Day celebration is on Sunday.

It kicks off at 1 p.m. with a Parade of Flags down Adams Street from Tillary Street to Cadman Plaza Park.
