Police are investigating after a man was stabbed to death in the Bronx early Friday morning.

Investigators said they were responding to a call around 5 a.m. of an assault going on Gerard Avenue when they found 39-year-old Winston Serrata-Chavez with a stab wound to his chest. 

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

One neighbor NY1 spoke with said she's shocked.

"It's crazy, I've been living here 15 years and nothing's ever happened like this," said the woman. "It's amazing how the summer starts already and somebody already getting killed on the block."

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
