An investigation is ongoing after police say they located the driver of a private garbage truck that struck and killed a woman in Brooklyn Thursday night.

He has not been arrested.

Officers answered a call of a pedestrian struck near Broadway and Ditmars Street in Bushwick around 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Alberta Bagu, 46, unconscious in the street with severe injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say she was crossing in the middle of the street when she was hit by the garbage truck.

Authorities say the driver left the scene but was later found.

They say he passed a breathalizer test and had a valid drivers license.

They say it's possible the driver didn't even know he had hit the woman.
