A new report card by a non-profit group gave the mayor a passing grade for trying to make city streets safer.

Mayor Bill de Blasio received an A- from Transportation Alternatives for several Vision Zero initiatives.

They include the re-design of Queens Boulevard and mandating the installation of side guards on city-owned trucks, but the mayor was faulted for not giving the Department of Transportation more money to improve safety on local streets.

Other agencies like the NYPD, the MTA and the Taxi and Limousine Commission did not fare so well, scoring in the C range.

The lowest grade of the bunch went to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

They were cited for not having an agenda on Vision Zero, and for not having a commissioner.

Transportation Alternatives also called on the task force behind Vision Zero to set yearly timetables.
