Looking for a new furry friend? Animal Care and Control says it has a staggering number of cats in its Manhattan shelter.

The organization says it has taken in more than 10,000 cats so far this year. That is 1,000 more cats than this time last year.

While more than 85 percent have been adopted, there are still plenty of cats who are in need of a home.

ACC is waiving adoption fees for all cats one year or older.
