For the first time this year, officials detect the West Nile virus.

The health department says it turned up in mosquitos in both Glen Oaks, Queens and New Dorp Beach on Staten Island.

No human cases have been reported. However, officials are now warning city residents, as a precaution, to get rid of standing water on their property.

Symptoms of West Nile Virus include headache, fever, weakness, and rashes.
