It was a free musical treat for families in Jackson Heights Sunday.

Local groups like the newly-formed Jackson Heights Community Chorus performed with other area and international musicians on Father's Day.

It was part of Make Music New York, an annual music festival across the five boroughs. And on Father's Day it was a nice way to celebrate dad.

"It's a beautiful day out here, it's Father's Day, and nothing can be better than this," said father Kamal Hossain about the event.

"To have a celebration of music and culture that really reflects the beauty and diversity of our Jackson Heights, here in this important public space, which is really the gateway to our neighborhood," added Shekar Krishnan, Friends of Diversity Plaza.

The Jackson Heights Beautification Group, Friends of Diversity Plaza and community group SUKHI NY sponsored the performances.
