Some of the country's finest professional lumberjacks came out to show they got the chops at the 2015 Stihl Timbersports Championships in Central Park.

The athletes revved up their chainsaws and competed in events that tested their skill and strength, like the standing block chop.

This year's winner, Matt Cogar, says he has a lot to celebrate.

"It's an undescribable feeling to come out being the three-time U.S. champion in a row," he said. "I came back from a substanial injury in the fall that hindered me a bit in the single bucking, but to come out with a win, it's quite literally living the dream."

The Stihl Timbersports series has been around for 30 years. This was the first time the U.S. Championship was held in the city.
