The teenage patients of a Manhattan hospital did not miss out on prom night, thanks to the medical staff.
The people at the Komansky Center For Children’s Health at New York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell whipped together a prom night Saturday night for more than a hundred students, both inpatient and outpatient.
To prepare for the big night, an entourage of hair stylists and makeup artists came in to pamper them in style.
"The kids love to get dressed up—the girls in the gowns, the boys in the tuxedos—having a chance to dance, having a chance to hang out," said Sharon Granville of the Komansky Center for Children's Health.
"I felt so great because they dress you up. They make you into a completely different person. So I was so thankful to the hospital. They made me feel special," said patient Christine Kim.
The prom's theme was "Carnival of Fun" and featured games and typical carnival food.
