Two men are facing charges after a gun accidentally fired at a pre-wedding reception at the Waldorf Astoria last night, injuring four people.
Police say the groom's cousin, 42-year-old Vladimir Gotlibovsky, was carrying this gun when it discharged.
The NYPD says his brother, 51-year-old Felix Gotlibovsky, then hid the weapon—which Vladimir had a permit for—inside Vladimir's home in Brooklyn.
Vladimir Gotlibovsky faces multiple charges including reckless endangerment and criminally negligent assault.
Felix faces charges as well, including criminal weapons possession because he did not have a license to carry the gun as well as tampering with physical evidence.
One guest we spoke with says it came as a shock.
"We were just walking in and we just heard a gunshot," she said. "I thought something got dropped, but I guess it was a shot. But I think everything should be OK."
A woman was hit in the head, and three others were injured, when shrapnel or debris flew after the bullet struck the floor.
The wedding was ultimately shut down by hotel security. All the guests left, and the bride was so upset she was crying.
All of the victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment and then released.
