If the weather has you thinking ahead to summer, the inaugural Hudson River Park Games might the place to work yourself up.

It's an Olympics-style event that encourages people bring their game to the waterfront.

There's beach volley-ball, pogo-sticking, kayaking and several other friendly competitions at Pier 26, and the best part: it's for a good cause.

All registration fees will be donated to the privately funded park.

Organizers say they're hoping to rally support for the green space and bring the community together.

"The park is so fun! There's a lot to do here, New York City is so great and we want people to get out on the water. We want people to experience things they haven't done before and hopefully they will come to delivery.com village and have a beer or a soda and get to know their neighbors," said Greg Boroff, executive director of Friends of Hudson River Park.

With so much concrete, it's nice to find an area that's for kids and families," one man said.

NY1's parent company, Time Warner Cable is one of the event sponsors.

The Hudson River park games run until 8 p.m. Saturday.
