South Korean officials say a New York University student is being held in North Korea.
North Korea's news agency reported yesterday that 21-year-old Won Moon Joo was arrested on April 22 after trying to illegally enter the country through China.
South Korean officals confirmed the arrest.
A spokesman for NYU says Joo was a junior at the college's Stern School of Business, but wasn't taking classes this semester.
The university wasn't aware of his travels but is now in touch with the U.S. State Department and the South Korean Embassy.
