Broadway's newest rising star is its revenue.

Ticket sales and attendance both hit record highs for the third season in a row.

The Broadway League says box office grosses totaled $1.36 billion this season.

That's up about $10 million from last season.

Attendance also rose about seven percent to 13 million.

The numbers were boosted by several factors including rising ticket prices, high demand from tourists and premium priced seating.
