Jurors from the Etan Patz murder trial held a vigil Monday to mark 36 years since the child went missing.

A memorial was set up in SoHo, near the site where Etan disappeared on the way to his bus stop in 1979.

The date is also recognized as National Missing Children's Day.

After the case against accused killer Pedro Hernandez resulted in a mistrial, jurors say they're redirecting their efforts towards drawing attention to other missing kids.

"This is about Etan, and all of the kids across the country, across the world, who don't come home. And it's not about the lone juror, it's not about someone's ego, it's about Etan and this special day. And we're trying to refocus back to that," said juror Jennifer O'Connor.

The Manhattan District Attorney is expected to make an announcement regarding a retrial for Hernandez next month.
