Police are searching for two men after a 14-year-old boy was shot dead on a Bronx Street. Investigators say the killing might be gang-related. NY1's Vivian Lee filed the following report.

Christian Duran said his 14-year-old son Christopher was on his way to school Friday morning when several shots were fired at him.

His son was hit once in the head, three times in the abdomen. Relatives were inconsolable as news spread

“The only thing I want to know, who did it and why he did it,” said Jesus Mendoza,  the victim’s uncle.

Investigators believe Duran had just left his building when he got into an argument with two males and gunfire erupted.

It happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Sheridan Avenue near East 167th Street as parents were taking their children to school.

Police found the victim unconscious and unresponsive.

“I came out here and I see a little boy on the ground. I hear people running down the block,” one neighbored described the scene.

“He was not a bad kid, not into gangs no nothing. He was a good kid,” said Stephanie Guzman, the victim's cousin.

However, sources tell NY1 that Duran had several brushes with the law in the past two years, including criminal possession of a weapon, armed robbery and reckless endangerment for throwing a brick at a car.

Duran also posted a picture of a gun on Facebook.

"That's a lie. That's a complete lie," said Guzman.

Investigators say they were looking for two males, one with a red bandana around his head. They released a surveillance photo of one of the suspects.

Sources say shooting may have been gang-related, something residents were surprised to hear, saying they knew of no gang activity on their block, or in the building where Duran lived.

Meanwhile, Christopher Duran's family struggles to understand how their 14-year-old could ever be a target.
