The man wanted for killing three members of a Washington D.C. family was arrested Thursday night following a week-long nationwide manhunt that drew help from the New York City Police Department, and according to court documents, authorities believe he did not act alone.

Police say Daron Dylon Wint, 34, was taken into custody around 11 p.m. in Washington.

DNA found on a pizza crust at the crime scene was used to identify Wint as a suspect in the May 14 killings of businessman Savvas Savopoulos, his wife, their son, and their housekeeper.

The victims were killed inside the Savopoulos' family's multi-million dollar mansion.

Police say the four were held hostage for at least 18 hours as Wint waited for $40,000 in cash to be delivered to their family home. Once the money was delivered, police say Wint beat and stabbed the father and set the home on fire.

Authorities tracked Wint to Brooklyn and back to D.C., where he was arrested Thursday night.

NYPD officers were sent to help U.S. marshals investigate the Brooklyn connection.

Five others were taken into custody, but they have not been charged.

Court documents did indicate that Wint would have required the help of others to hold the family captive.

Wint has a criminal record that includes arrests for assault and weapons possession.

Police say Wint once worked for Savopoulos' company, American Iron Works.
