A wake was held Monday for one of the two people killed in last month's building explosion in the East Village.

Viewing took place at the Ortiz Funeral Home in Washington Heights for 23-year-old Nicholas Figueroa.

He was a customer at the sushi restaurant on the ground floor of the building where the blast occurred on March 26.

Funeral services are planned for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the New York Post reports today that a plumber has admitted to illegally tapping into a gas line on the instructions of the building owner's son.

Investigators have been checking to see if someone illegally tapped into a line.

Nearly two dozen people were injured in the explosion, including six firefighters.

The city medical examiner confirmed last week that Moises Ismael Locon was the second victim in the blast.

Con Ed says they have seen an increase in possible gas leak reports since the explosion.
