A Bronx teenager is fighting for his life after falling six stories from a rooftop while running from police.
Police say the 17-year-old was part of a group smoking marijuana inside a building on Valentine Avenue Thursday evening.
Officers say they saw two teens run up a stairwell and onto the roof.
They say the 17-year-old climbed over a barrier to get away but started to slip.
The other teen and one of the officers tried to help.
"It's sad, because he's a kid. He's only 17 years old. He's still got a whole lot of life ahead of him," said one person in the area. "I can just imagine what his parents are feeling."
Fire officials say he was taken St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.
