Pet Adoption App Showcases City's Homeless Animals

Looking to adopt a pet in the city? All you need to do is download an app.

Animal Care and Control of New York has launched an iPhone app to showcase animals up for adoption.

The app lets users view pet profiles and share photos with friends through Facebook, Twitter, text or e-mail.

It also provides users with contact info and directions for the three Animal Care Centers in Manhattan, Staten Island, and the Bronx.  The agency says it has between 250 and 500 animals looking for a home at any given time.
