Senate Democrats are urging Republican leaders to schedule a vote on President Barack Obama's pick for attorney general.

The president nominated Brooklyn federal prosecutor Loretta Lynch back in November.

A letter to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Lynch's nomination has been put off longer than any nominee for attorney general in the past three decades.

McConnell's spokesman says the Senator has promised a vote on Lynch's nomination, but has not said when.

Lynch currently serves as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

President Obama nominated her to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder.

Some Republicans oppose Lynch because she supports the President's executive action on immigration.
