It may seem like New York is the most expensive city in the world, but one study says it actually doesn't even come close.

The Economist Intelligence Unit's bi-annual survey ranks New York as the 22nd most expensive city, despite the fact that the cost of living here has risen 23 percent over the past five years.

The survey compares services and products like food, clothing, and utilities.

As for the top five, Singapore holds onto its number one ranking.

That's followed by Paris, Oslo, Zurich, and Sydney.
