There were some frightening moments at Coney Island Opening Day, when the world famous Cyclone malfunctioned Sunday, leaving riders stuck.

The first 100 riders were let on for free, about two dozen got on first and it was during that first run of the iconic roller coaster that they got stuck at the top of the track.

It happened at 11:45 a.m Sunday.

That was right after the park's opening ceremony with the traditional egg-cream.

No injuries were reported.

Riders were escorted down the tracks, one at a time, by a park worker. Some took it in stride, others said it was cold, windy and pretty scary up there.

Rider: "As soon as the ride is back up and running again we will be back up there.

Reporter: "Just a glitch?"

Rider: "Absolutely, just a hiccup."

"I live here. I've done this, but this was insane," another rider said.

"It was terrifying. Because I was up there and I was—everything was spinning and I didn't know what to do," said a third.

Luna Park officials are calling this an isolated incident that is being quickly resolved.

They say the ride will re-open after proper inspection.
