A fire at a home in Brooklyn that sent three people to the hospital was a caused by a lit cigarette.

That's according to fire officials.

Two adults and a child are in critical condition from smoke inhalation.

The FDNY was called around 9:15 a.m. Saturday  to a multi-family home on Clarendon Road and East 32nd street in East Flatbush.

One of the adults also suffered burns.

"The responded immediately. Even before the flames came out, they were already here. After the first truck got here, that's when the flames started shooting out the window," said witness William Machado.

Officials say the fire started on the second floor of the building.
