Two adults and a child are in critical condition after a fire at a house in Brooklyn.

All three are being treated for smoke inhalation. One of the adults also suffered burns.

The FDNY says two other people were also hurt and are in stable condition.

The fire burned the second floor of a multi-family home in East Flatbush.

Fire fighters were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m. Saturday and put out the fire a short while later.

"The responded immediately. Even before the flames came out, they were already here. After the first truck got here, that's when the flames started shooting out the window," said witness William Machado.

The FDNY say they're still looking into the cause, but say it's possible it started in a bedroom on the second floor.
