Four Brooklyn residents were indicted on charges related to kidnapping and prostitution.

Investigators say 25-year-old Marcus Sumpter met two 13-year-old girls in August and brought them back to his home in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

They say he had sex with them and tried to convince them to become prostitutes.

He and three accomplices lived in a home on Classon Avenue, according to investigators.

Investigators say the girls were found after a relative received a text message asking for a date.

According to investigators, the relative replied "yes," asked for the price and location, and paid for the services, though the relative intended only to bring the girl to safety.

The other girl was rescued a short time later.

People who live nearby were upset by the news.

"As a father of a 2-year-old girl, to hear that people are going around, still in this day, doing horrible things to teenagers, especially teenage girls, it's horrendous," said one person who lives nearby

"It doesn't necessarily surprise me as much as it upsets me," said another. "I think it's absolutely awful, but it's a lot more common than people think. I think that's why it's such a prevalent issue."

Joann Bailey, 55, and Jerry Brown, 57, were also arrested and face a slew of charges.

Police are still looking for a another woman in connection with this case. Her name is Jasmine Goldstein.
