Th NYPD is reportedly being linked to even more controversial Wikipedia edits.
The New York Post is reporting that someone using department computers edited Wikipedia pages for Playboy magazine, wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin, Fran Drescher sitcom “The Nanny” and ’90s band Chumbawamba.
The report says the history section for Playboy was changed on March 22, 2007.
The page for the show "The Nanny" also was edited on May 26, 2009 by someone who correctly changed character Fran Fine’s native home from Brooklyn to Flushing, Queens.
This comes after Capital New York reported that the NYPD made edits to the Wikipedia pages of Eric Garner, Sean Bell, and Amadou Diallo—all men who died after confrontations with police.
NYPD officials say none of the edits were made from computers located at Police Headquarters, but say an internal investigation has begun.
