The hunt is on for a teenager who police say raped a 12-year-old girl in the Bronx earlier this week.

The NYPD says surveillance video shows the teen dragging the victim by the arm near East Tremont Avenue and Southern Boulevard in West Farms on Tuesday evening.

Investigators say the teen walked up to the girl, grabbed her by the arm, and threatened to kill her if she screamed.

After trying to bring her into two locked buildings, police say he forced her into an alley and attacked her before running away.

People who live in the area were shocked by the attack.

"If she would have screamed for help, somebody would've definitely helped her. It's crazy that nobody helped, it's always busy.  Look at the time now, there's people walking, so for that to happen to the little girl is upsetting," said one neighborhood resident.

Police describe the suspect as being 5'2" tall and in his early to mid teens.
