The city Parks Department unveiled a massive plan this week to revitalize Crotona and Tremont Parks in the Bronx.

Security will be a large focus of the renovations. But community feedback has led to other ideas like a dog park, a football field, and year-round use of the Crotona pool building.

The project is expected to cost about $75 million and take more than 20 years to complete.

"It's something that we consider a working document and as funding comes we'll go back to the community for the particular projects and we'll rethink exactly what's to be done. So even though there's lot of exciting ideas in the plan like the soccer field and the football field and running loop and the cafe these are things that we'll all be going back and engaging the community on any future development of the plan," said Crotona Park Adminstrator Portia Dyrenforth.

Parts of Crotona and Tremont Parks are already undergoing a transformation.

However, parks officials say they have a long way to go until their whole plan is complete.
