The trial of the man accused of killing Etan Patz continued in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday.

The 6-year-old disappeared from while walking to school in SoHo in 1979.

Jurors heard testimony from a garbage hauler who says he may have picked up Patz's remains after the boy was allegedly strangled by Pedro Hernandez.

Hernandez has confessed more than once that he stuffed Patz's body in a garbage bag, then put it in a box and left that box several blocks away.

Hernandez's attorney, Harvey Fishbein, said the testimony from the garbage hauler is inconsequential.

"If he could remember anything, perhaps he could have, but more importantly, they were focused again on an area not only away from where they are trying to argue the box was left at 115, down the steps, which is a residential building, he is a commercial carter possibly picking things up much closer to the corner," Fishbein said. "But again, 113, if there's a relevant address, is the relevant address, and that was a bakery in 1979."

The prosecution continues its case Friday.

The judge said the trial could possibly be wrapped up by early April.
