Police found a man dead inside a Queens park Saturday.

Police discovered the 42-year-old victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head inside Astoria Park yesterday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

NY1 spoke with a man who goes to the park and says he's shocked by this incident.

"This is probably one of the most safest neighborhood in Queens. Very diverse, I walk my dog every single morning, evenings. That's basically where it happened. It's where I take my dog. Even in the cold, the park is pretty crowded—you have people still running, walking their dogs, so it's shocking to me," he said.

No arrests have been made and police are working to identify the victim.
