Monday is Groundhog Day, but it's not clear if Mayor Bill de Blasio will repeat his visit to the Staten Island Zoo.

The Daily News says the mayor's office has not confirmed whether he plans to attend the zoo's annual Groundhog Day event with Staten Island Chuck.

During de Blasio's first visit as mayor last year, the groundhog squirmed out of his hands and fell several feet to the ground.

When the animal died a week later from internal injuries, it was revealed that the groundhog was actually Chuck's sister Charlotte, who was filling in.

Zoo officials insist the mayor was not to blame for the groundhog's death.

However, they did say they would reconsider allowing anyone to hold the animal in the future.
