General Information

What do TWC video customers get on TWCNews.com?

Time Warner Cable News websites for Time Warner Cable's 24-hour news channels – including regions across Upstate NY, TWC News NY1 News and TWC News Noticias NY1 in New York City, and TWC News in North Carolina – offer enhanced access to Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to TWC video (TV) service.

This includes access to all of our video clips plus expanded web-only videos including long-form interviews and extended on-location footage, as well as our vast video clip archive.

In addition, Time Warner Cable customers who get TWC News on their cable box can now access our new 24/7 live video stream, allowing you to watch Time Warner Cable News on on any modern web browser, wherever you are.

In order to access our video content, Time Warner Cable customers must sign in using their Time Warner Cable username and password – the same ID used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager and other TWC services.

This ID is free of charge to all TWC TV subscribers, and there is no additional charge for the enhanced website content. However, TWC subscribers with only high-speed data or phone service will need to upgrade to a video subscription to be able to access our video clips, and only TWC subscribers who get Time Warner Cable News on their cable box can view our live stream.

Those without a TWC ID can access a lite version of the site, which does not include video or other exclusive features.

If you've already set up your TWC ID, you're all ready to access the enhanced TWCNews.com. If not, you can register for your TWC ID by following the instructions below.

How do I sign in to watch your video clips?

To access our video clips, sign in with your Time Warner Cable username and password. This is the same username and password used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager and other TWC services.

If you haven't set up your Time Warner Cable username and password yet, you can easily do so on the TWC Registration Page by entering your e-mail address and following the registration instructions.

Once you have a Time Warner Cable username and password, you can sign in from any page on the site by clicking on the words "Sign in here" at the top right corner of the page, or by clicking the "Sign in" button on any video clip.

Time Warner Cable News' video clips are only available to Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to TWC's video services. This means that TWC customers who have only high-speed data or phone service must upgrade to a video subscription to be able to fully access the upgraded sites. You can order TWC video service on the Time Warner Cable Ordering Page.

How do I sign in to watch your 24/7 live stream?

If you're a Time Warner Cable customer who gets Time Warner Cable News on your cable box, you can watch TWC News online on any modern web browser. Just click the LIVE VIDEO tab on the blue bar at top of any page, then click the Time Warner Cable button in the middle of the page and login with your TWC ID.

Do I have to sign in twice to watch both clips and live video?

If you've logged in to the site to watch our video clips, you still have to sign in to our live video page to watch our 24/7 live stream. But if you've logged in to our live video page, you'll automatically be signed in to watch our video clips.

In a future version of the site we'll offer a single login that will allow you to access all our video features at once.

What do I need to watch the live video stream?

Viewing the stream requires the Microsoft Silverlight 5 plugin (available for free here) and a modern web browser like Internet Explorer version 9 or better, Firefox 19 or better, Safari 6 or better, or Chrome 12 or better.

Getting Your TWC ID

I'm a TWC video customer – how do I get my TWC ID?

If you haven't set up your Time Warner Cable username and password, just go to the TWC Registration Page, enter your e-mail address, and follow the instructions in the e-mail that will be automatically sent to you.

For instructions on how to set up your TWC ID, watch a step-by-step tutorial.

Can I create TWC ID logins for other members of my family?

You sure can. If you want other family members to have their own TWC ID logins, just follow these instructions.

Accessing The Site

How do I sign in to the site to watch video clips with my Time Warner Cable username and password?

Once you've set up your Time Warner Cable username and password on the TWC Registration Page, you're ready to go. Sign in to watch our clips by clicking on the words "Sign in here" at the top right corner of any page, or by clicking the "Sign in" button on any video clip. Once you're signed in, the words at the top of the page will change to "Sign out here" and you can sign out by clicking on that link.

To access this help page from anywhere on the site, just click on the "Help" link to the right of the sign-in links.

Does my login also get me access to the live video stream?

In addition to our video clips, we offer TWC video subscribers access to our 24/7 live video stream – however you must have Time Warner Cable News in the channel line-up on your cable box. Because the stream is limited to those who get Time Warner Cable News on their TV, we currently require that you login separately to view the stream.

In a future version of the site we'll offer a single login that will allow you to access all our enhanced features at once.

Troubleshooting

When I go to sign in, I get a message saying "Your Time Warner Cable subscription does not currently include access to this programming."

If you're trying to view our video clips, first make sure that you subscribe to TWC's video (TV) services. If you're a TWC customer who has only high-speed data or phone service, you must upgrade to a video subscription to be able to fully access the upgraded sites. You can order TWC video service on the Time Warner Cable Ordering Page.

If you get this message while trying to sign in to our 24/7 live stream, it's likely because you don't have Time Warner Cable News in the channel line-up on your cable box.

I subscribe to Time Warner Cable video service and/or I get Time Warner Cable News on my cable box, but I'm still having trouble signing in.

If you're a video customer and/or you get Time Warner Cable News on your cable box but you're still having trouble logging in, get assistance by visiting the TWC Help Page. Begin by entering your zip code, then choose between live chat, phone support, or e-mail as your support option.

If you'd like to use Live Chat, choose "MyServices Application Support" from the pulldown menu, and a specialist will assist you.

I'm experiencing additional issues with the site.

Please send an e-mail describing your problem to support@twcnews.com.
