NY1 recently flagged a tweet to the MTA showing wet paint signs that long overstayed their welcome in one station. When Transit President Andy Byford saw this among other smaller appearence issues needing attention, it led him to employ Group Station Managers, that the MTA hopes will improve the cleanliness and customer experience of the subway stations. Some of the Managers’ responsibilities include, leading station customer service, improving station appearance, informing riders with signage and acting as community partners.
