BRIGHTON, N.Y. — The McQuaid boys basketball is off to the state semifinals after wrapping up their first Section V title in 15 years.

The Knights’ current coaches were all on that team that ended up winning a state title.

Head Coach Jack Leasure wants to make sure his players enjoy the weekend.

“We were saying to each other how special it was to do it as a coach,” Leasure said. “It felt even cooler than doing it as a player. It means a lot to McQuaid basketball and former McQuaid basketball players and alumni around McQuaid just because it’s been a long time and I think really, that 15 years shows you how hard it is to do this and it’s a testament to this group.

The Knights face Half Hallow Hills East on Saturday in Binghamton. Click here to find out how you can stream the high school basketball state championship games live.
