They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what you have for lunch can also certainly impact your day, and your health. In this Healthy Living report, NY1's Kristen Shaughnessy talks to the experts on how to keep your lunch clean, creative, and convenient.

We often hear how you make healthier choices when you pack your own lunch, but then the question is, what do you pack? Of course, it is always easier to grab something or order in, so I figured we would ask the fittest of the fit - the personal trainers - what they do for lunch.

Busy with classes and individual clients, BFX trainer Juan Hidalgo wants convenience, but he also wants choices. He gets three meals and two snacks delivered from Fresh. Five days runs about $182.

"Fresh, organic, grass fed that I get to choose my own menu - if I want a regular menu. If I want paleo, I get it. I choose how many days a week I want to get it, how many meals a day I want for the plan,” he says.

Fellow trainer Derek Stratton orders in each day from Digg In. He says it's the only way with his crazy schedule.

"It's going to be some sort of protein, whether it's chicken or salmon - those are my two kind of favorites to get - and a variety of vegetables because I stay away from the starchy foods," he says.

Bryce Gerovich gets creative with lunches he packs himself.

"Some sort of protein, so tuna and chicken or beef. Or the other option is I would create a salad as well - the same concept, some quinoa, some couscous in there, some carbohydrates plus some kale," he says.

Salad is the go-to lunch for Chelsea Stock as she juggles teaching classes with her theater career.

"I like to eat light, but healthy and cover all bases, so some proteins and chicken and some good fats, you know, with the avocado, and some veggies, but I never want to feel too full," she says.

While you might not be able to do a complete overhaul overnight,  making one healthier choice a day can certainly help.
