State health officials say if you haven't gotten your flu shot yet, do it now.

We are officially in flu season.

Everyone who's more than 6 months old is being urged to get a flu shot immediately.

It's particularly important for kids under 2, adults over 65 and pregnant women, as they face the most serious risks from flu complications.

So far this season, more than 1,800 cases have been confirmed around the state and in the five boroughs.

Flu season is expected to peak in February.
