Actor and comedian Julia Louis-Dreyfus reveals she's been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The award-winning star of "Veep" and "Seinfeld" posted the news on Twitter Thursday.

She received the diagnosis 10 days ago, just one day after she picked up her sixth Emmy award.

Louis-Dreyfus also used the moment to call for universal healthcare for all Americans who don't have adequate coverage.

She tweets that she has the support of family and friends, and fantastic insurance through her union, the Screen Actors Guild.

But she says: "The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.''
