Some of the city's youngest performers enjoyed a night out on Broadway.

Aspiring actors and theater fans took part in the 20th annual "Kids' Night on Broadway".

The annual event allows people 18 and under to see participating Broadway shows for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

Kid actors from several productions, including "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Lion King," and "School of Rock" were also on hand for the free event.

"The arts are just an amazing thing that young people across the city should be exposed to," said Luis Castro, acting commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. "It helps foster and encourage creativity, different ways of thinking, working together with other people. The arts are just inspiring and they're important to be a part of any young person's life."

"It's immensely fun," said one child actor. "Every night I get to perform with my friends and we get to go up on that stage and get to do amazing characters."

"It's really cool that I get to live my dream young," said another.

The event was organized by the Broadway League and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.
