So what was the most popular music on New Yorkers' playlists this year? Spotify is out with its list as part of its "Year in Music" campaign.

The streaming service put up hand-painted billboards in the neighborhoods where it tracked listening trends in 2015.

One billboard points out that despite Williamsburg's reputation as hip, Justin Bieber's hit "Sorry" trended highest in that Brooklyn community. Williamsburg residents also were big on rapper Fetty Wap.

In Gowanus, Brooklyn In 2015, Spotify's Deep Sleep playlists of relaxing music trended highest.

SoHo stuck with legends like Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson, who trended highest in that neighborhood.

Other favorite musical acts around the city included The Weeknd in the East Village, Beach House in Hudson Yards and hip-hop artist Future in Bushwick.
