The 14th annual Tribeca Film Festival is next month, and the star attraction will be an equally local institution.

The festival's opening night film will be "Live From New York!", a new documentary detailing the origins and early years of “Saturday Night Live”(SNL).

The film was made in cooperation with SNL creator Lorne Michaels, and features cast member interviews, behind the scenes footage, and commentary on the show's impact on American culture.

“Saturday Night Live” is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year, with a special scheduled to air this Sunday.

This won't be the first SNL documentary to premiere at Tribeca. James Franco's film "Saturday Night" was screened there in 2010.

This year's festival runs April 15th through the 26th. For more information, check out tribecafilm.com.
