Actress Cynthia Nixon slammed Governor Andrew Cuomo during a TV interview.

Nixon, best known for her role on "Sex and the City," has been rumored as a possible challenger to Cuomo when he's up for re-election next year.

She would not confirm or deny those rumors while on NBC's Today Show, but she did criticize the governor for what she said were inequities in school funding.

"Governor Cuomo likes to say that we spend more per pupil than any other state, and that is actually true," Nixon said. "But the only reason that is true is because we spend so much on the kids in our wealthiest districts. And so that evens out."

In response, a spokesperson for the Governor's Division of the Budget said, "The more people are talking about issues that make New York stronger, the better. We know Ms. Nixon is a passionate advocate for education, and we would be happy to sit down with her anytime to talk about it."
