Hillary Clinton stumped in Brooklyn Saturday, wooing Latino voters and exercising some restraint when presented with some New York delectables.

Strawberry or pineapple? — Hillary Clinton could have gotten any kind of cheesecake at Junior's — the venerable Flatbush Avenue diner.

Alas, not even a taste.

"I learned early on not to eat in front of you," Clinton told photographers. "So I'm sitting here just pining, pining for a bite."

Bite or no bite, the Democratic front-runner found backers in her surprise visit.

Later Saturday it was a Latino-centered crowd.

She sprinkled her stump speech with calls for immigration overhaul, noting her rival Bernie Sanders has opposed it.

Loud applause greeted calls for bankruptcy protection in Puerto Rico.

"When I was a Senator from New York I considered myself a Senator also representing Puerto Rico and I will keep fighting for Puerto Rico," Clinton said.

A fifth of New York State is Latino and New York City is actually seen as having the largest Hispanic population of the United States.

Her venue drew criticism, a small group says the Sunset Park development is pushing out locals.

Her position on minimum wage also is drawing more notice. Officially she favors a hike to twelve dollars nationally — with localities able to boost it higher.

But rival Bernie Sanders supports $15 nationally, like what a new law will largely make New York State.

"I was with Governor Cuomo when he signed the bill raising the minimum wage in New York we've now got to do that for the entire nation," Clinton said.

Aides say her position is unchanged.

Using similar language as in past, Clinton blasted Sanders' opposition to gun control laws — and shrugged off a loss in Wyoming Saturday that actually had them split the delegate count.

Her final message to her supporters? Let's end this in New York.

"The sooner I can become the nominee I can turn and unify the Democratic Party like I did with President Obama back in 2008," Clinton said.

New York may accelerate that. Or with Sanders still flush with cash and support — maybe not.
