The NYPD is being taken to court for allegedly not doing enough to make its stations accessible to the disabled.

The organization Disability Rights Advocates filed a complaint against the department, the city and Commissioner James O'Neill today.

It was done on behalf of four people who claim that because they have mobility issues, they were unable to get into stations to file reports, attend community safety meetings and take advantage of resources provided at precincts around the city.

The plaintiffs say they regularly face steps that they cannot climb, wheelchair lifts that are broken, unmarked alternate routes to get in and bathrooms that are too small for chairs.

Advocates say these are violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and that they are being denied equal access to the NYPD.

The City's Law Department will review the complaint.
