The 47th precinct in the Bronx held a ceremony to honor its own fallen officers.

The memorial included the addition of a new plaque remembering Officer Michael Williams.

Williams died in a police van crash last year.

He was just 25 years old.

Police say the event is particularly geared toward the loved ones of fallen officers.

"It's important that we reach the families of these heroes because they sacrifice more than anyone can imagine and we wanted to have this ceremony to send a statement to them that together we stand with them, that their fallen loved one's legacy and memory is not forgotten,” Deputy Inspector Ruel Stephenson said.

The memorial ceremony ended with a 5K run.
