A Bath man suffered serious injuries after police say he was assaulted by his son early Saturday morning.

State police say they were originally called to Corning Hospital around 1 a.m. for the report of an assault victim with serious injuries.

After investigating, they say 37-year-old Christopher Quick struck his father, resulting in fractures, puncture wounds to the chest and lacerations to the head and face.

His father was initially taken to Corning Hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Pennsylvania.

Quick was charged with attempted assault. He's currently in jail without bail.
